U.S. Marshals Task Force Capture Suspected Murder Fugitive

Memphis, TN - U.S. Marshal Tyreece Miller announces the arrest of Chico Smith for Second Degree Murder.

On April 28, 2021, an arrest warrant for Second Degree Murder was issued for Chico Smith by Shelby County. This fugitive case was adopted by the U.S. Marshals Two Rivers Violent Fugitive Task Force.

Earlier today Smith was located by the Task Force at a residence in the 800 block of Par Avenue, Memphis, Tennessee. The Marshals Task Force was assisted by the Shelby County Fugitive Apprehension Team. He was taken into custody without incident.

The U.S. Marshals Two Rivers Violent Fugitive Task Force is a multi-agency task force in the Western District of Tennessee with offices in Memphis and Jackson. Its membership is composed of Deputy U.S. Marshals, Shelby County Sheriff’s Deputies, Memphis Police Officers, Fayette County Sheriff’s Deputies, Jackson Police Officers, and Special Agents with the Tennessee Department of Correction. The primary mission of the Task Force is to arrest violent offenders and sexual predators.
