Washington, DC -Today, Rep. Elijah E. Cummings, Ranking Member of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, issued the following statement regarding the capture of Ahmed Abu Khattala, who is suspected of being involved in the 2012 attacks on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi:
“This operation demonstrates that when America says it will bring to justice those who attack our country or our people, we will back up that solemn commitment with strong action-regardless of political party. I thank our military, law enforcement, and intelligence personnel who carried out this operation and commend them on their ongoing efforts to bring other perpetrators to justice."
