WASHINGTON-House Committee on Oversight and Reform Ranking Member James Comer (R-Ky.) and Government Operations Subcommittee Ranking Member Jody Hice (R-Ga.) today called out President Biden for rescinding the Trump Administration’s executive order creating a new Schedule F for federal employees.
“Transparency and accountability within every branch of the U.S. government are key to ensuring our government is efficient and effective, but President Biden is seeking to allow massive bureaucratic power to go unchecked. The American people must be able to hold all federal employees-elected and unelected-accountable for their actions. This repeal by President Biden fails to empower the American people and instead empowers the bureaucracy. We should work together to find solutions to rein in an unelected, unaccountable bureaucracy," said Ranking Member Comer.
“President Biden wants to protect the liberal bureaucracy rather than create or reinforce any accountability. The American people deserve better. If taxpayer dollars are used to pay the salary of a federal employee, there must be transparency and accountability. Yet, President Biden just withdrew reasonable efforts to provide that to the American public," said Subcommittee Ranking Member Hice.
