Pam Bondi, the U.S. Attorney General, said that the Department of Justice is conducting successful crime-fighting efforts across the country. She made this statement during her testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee.
"We are replicating that tough-on-crime approach across the country," said Bondi. "Outstanding investigative work to keep the American people safe. Dismantling violent drug trafficking networks."
According to Bondi, FBI Director Kash Patel's leadership has been commendable, particularly in a recently concluded operation called "Summer Heat." This operation resulted in over 8,600 arrests, with more than 6,500 of these falling under the FBI's Violent Crime and Gang program.
Bondi also highlighted the efforts of the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and its Administrator Terry Cole in combating drug trafficking nationwide. She reported that the DEA has seized 47.9 million fentanyl pills and 4,500 kilos of fentanyl powder, which she said represents "370 million deadly doses."
Additionally, Bondi praised Director Gadyaces Serralta and the U.S. Marshals for their achievements, noting they have "arrested more than 51,000 fugitives since January 20th." She also recognized the work of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), which she said has seized 23,000 illegal firearms.
Pam Bondi is serving as the 87th Attorney General of the United States. Previously, she was Florida's Attorney General from 2011 to 2019. Bondi has also served on various boards including as a Trustee for the Kennedy Center and held positions at the America First Policy Institute.
