U.S. Department of Agriculture publishes nine press releases in January

There were nine press releases published by the U.S. Department of Agriculture in January.

The most recent press release, "USDA Invests $1 Billion to Improve Community Infrastructure for People Living in Rural Towns Across the Country," was submitted on Jan. 26.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture published five press releases the month before, marking an 80 percent increase for the current month.

The Department is primarily focused on food nutrition, with assistance programs making up 80 percent of its budget. Downsizing the Federal Government, a project aimed at lowering taxes and boosting federal efficiency, said the Department implements too many regulations and restrictions and impedes the economy.

The USDA's budget for 2021 sat at $146 billion, with programming costing $119 billion.
