U.S. Marshals Arrest Trinitarios Gang Member in Lewiston, Maine

Portland, ME - The U.S. Marshals Service, Maine Violent Offender Task Force announces the arrest of Robert Santana, 26, of Lawrence, Massachusetts. Santana was being sought by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, State Police Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section on a warrant charging Carjacking, Un-Armed Robbery, Assault and Battery, and Threat to Commit a Crime. The warrant was issued on November 22nd, 2021.

Authorities said, Santana, who is a known member of the gang “Trinitarios" had fled Massachusetts shortly after the incident and was believed to be “Armed and Dangerous" according to reports. Through a collaborative investigation, authorities determined that Santana was at a residence in Lewiston, Maine. U.S. Marshals were able to safely apprehend Santana at that address in Lewiston without incident. Santana was transported to the local county jail where he is charged as a Fugitive from Justice, pending his extradition back to the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

The USMS Maine Violent Offender Task Force was assisted by the U.S. Marshals Service District of Massachusetts, Massachusetts State Police Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section, and the Lewiston Police Department. The U.S. Marshals Service Maine Violent Offender Task Force is comprised of members of the U.S. Marshals Service, Maine State Police, Maine Department of Corrections, Biddeford Police Department and U.S. Customs and Border Patrol.
