The Bureau of Reclamation announced today that beginning on April 25, 2022, the Chapay Lane bridge crossing will be temporarily closed at the Main Outlet Drain Extension Levee adjacent to Calle Agua Salada Road to accommodate the replacement of the bridge.
Replacement of the Chapay Lane bridge was made possible after Reclamation received a grant from the Federal Highway Administration’s Federal Lands Transportation Program that was awarded to the agency to enhance public safety and improve public access through the area.
The Chapay Lane bridge is anticipated to be closed through December 2022 to allow for completion of the project. During the replacement process, construction crews will ensure public access is maintained through Strand Avenue with intermittent delays.
Questions or comments about the project should be directed to Anthony Jacobo, Project Manager, with Reclamation’s Yuma Area Office at (928) 503-7633 or via email at ajacobo@usbr.gov.
