Today, Secretary of Commerce Gina M. Raimondo met virtually with European Commission Executive Vice-President Margrethe Vestager to discuss their shared objectives in preparation for the upcoming U.S.-EU Trade and Technology Council Ministerial taking place in France between May 15-16. In particular, the discussion centered on ongoing efforts in the five working groups that the Department of Commerce co-leads with the European Union (Technology Standards; Secure Supply Chains; Information Communications Technology and Services Security; Export Controls; and Promoting SME Access to and Use of Digital Technologies). The Secretary and Executive Vice-President also reaffirmed their commitment to deepening our partnership in response to Russia’s unprovoked invasion of Ukraine and the ongoing work to deliver results benefiting both sides of the Atlantic.
