WASHINGTON -- Senate Finance Committee Chairman William V. Roth, Jr. (R-DE) today released the following statement regarding the higher surplus estimates released today by the Office of Management and Budget:

"These new, larger federal budget surplus estimates give us the opportunity to work together in a bipartisan way to save Social Security, preserve Medicare while allowing for a prescription drug benefit, and significantly reduce taxes for working Americans."
