Committee to Hold Hearing on Status of IRS Reform

WASHINGTON -- Senate Finance Committee Chairman William V. Roth, Jr. (R-DE) today announced that the Committee will meet on Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2000, at 10:00 a.m. in 215 Dirksen Senate Office Building to hear testimony on the status of Internal Revenue Service Reform.

The following witnesses are expected to appear before the Committee:

I. A panel consisting of:

The Honorable David C. Williams, Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration, Washington, D.C.

Mr. W. Val Oveson, National Taxpayer Advocate, Internal Revenue Service, Washington, D.C.

Mr. James R. White, Director, Tax Policy and Administration Issues, United States General Accounting Office, Washington, D.C.

II. A panel consisting of:

The Honorable Charles O. Rossotti, Commissioner of Internal Revenue, Washington, D.C.
