Hearing: To Markup Pending Legislation and Nominations Date/Time: July 17, 2001, at 10:00 a.m.

Location: 215 Dirksen Senate Office Building

Agenda

Chairman Baucus announced that the Finance Committee would meet on July 17 to markup the following legislation:

S.J. Res. 16, to approve the U.S.-Vietnam Bilateral Trade Agreement; S. 643, to implement the agreement establishing a U.S.-Jordan Free Trade area; and S. 942, to reauthorize the TANF Supplemental Grant program for one year; and an original committee resolution calling for an investigation of the importation of certain steel products.

In addition, Chairman Baucus announced that the Committee would organize for the 107th Congress and would consider favorably reporting the following five nominations:

Wade Horn, to be Assistant Secretary of HHS for Family Support;

William Henry Lash, III to be Assistant Secretary of Market Access and Compliance,Department of Commerce;

Allen Frederick Johnson, to be Chief Agricultural Negotiator, Office of the United States Trade Representative;

Kevin Keane, to be Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs, Department of Health and Human Services; and

Brian Carlton Roseboro, to be Assistant Secretary of Financial Markets, Department of Treasury.
