Baucus Schedules Markup on Trade Legislation

Hearing: To Markup the Andean Trade Preference Act and Trade Adjustment Assistance

Date/Time: Nov. 29, 2001, at 9:00 A.M.

Agenda

Chairman Baucus announced that the Finance Committee would meet on November 29 to

markup the following two bills:

S.525, relating to the Andean Trade Preference Act, with a Baucus amendment in the nature of a substitute (as an amendment to H.R. 3009);

S. 1209, relating to Trade Adjustment Assistance, with a Baucus amendment in the nature of a substitute. Written Statements: Any individuals or organizations wanting to present their views on this markup to the Committee are urged to submit a typewritten, single-spaced, single-sided statement, not exceeding 10pages in length, for inclusion in the hearing record. The date and subject of the markup must appear on the first page of the statement. Five copies of the statement should be mailed to the Editorial Section,United States Senate, Committee on Finance, Washington, D.C. 20510, and also to Kolan Davis, Minority Staff Director, United States Senate, Committee on Finance, 219 Dirksen Senate Office Building,Washington, D.C. 20510. Statements must be received no later than noon on Thursday, Dec. 13,2001. Written statements must also be submitted on diskette in a format that can be read by personal computers (Wordperfect text is preferred; other formats will be accepted -- please identify format).
