(Washington, D.C.) U.S. Senator Max Baucus, who is leading a trade delegation to Asia nextweek, will hold a conference call for national press reporters on Monday, March 15 at 10 a.m.EST.
Baucus's press call will highlight his first day in Tokyo, Japan, which consists ofmeetings with top government officials and the Keidanren -- the equivalent of the U.S. Chamberof Commerce. In the meetings, he plans to address the issue of the Japanese ban on imports ofU.S. beef and urge Japan to work with the United States to make progress in the World TradeOrganization (WTO) negotiations.
Following Japan, Baucus will travel to Beijing and Shanghai, China, as well as Bangkok, Thailand.
