Senate Finance Committee Ranking Member Ron Wyden, D-Ore., today announced that Sarah Schaefer will be joining the Finance Committee as Tax Policy Advisor for Small Businesses and Passthroughs for the Democratic Staff. Ms. Schaefer begins this week and will be responsible for leading and developing small business tax policy.

“It’s great to welcome Sarah to Congress as a tax advisor on our Committee," said Wyden. “Sarah is a seasoned Certified Public Accountant who has advised and consulted on partnership tax issues for several years. Her experience and partnership expertise will play a key role in coming up with new policies that help small businesses and curb potential passthrough abuse."

Ms. Schaefer earned her Bachelors of Business Administration in Accounting from East Tennessee State University College of Business and Technology. She is licensed as a Certified Public Accountant in Minnesota, North Carolina and the District of Columbia.
