Wyden Statement on House Passage of the SECURE Act

The following press release was published by the United States Senate Committee on Finance Chairman's News on May 23, 2019. It is reproduced in full below.

Senate Finance Committee Ranking Member Ron Wyden, D-Ore., today released the following statement on House passage of the SECURE Act:

“The House of Representatives today approved long overdue legislation to address the retirement crisis and make it easier for employers to offer plans to their workers. Importantly, Democrats also fixed a disastrous policy in the Republican tax bill that resulted in Gold Star families, students and Native American tribes being taxed like millionaires. The House-passed legislation is very similar to the Senate bill and I’m working with Chairman Grassley to get legislation signed into law as soon as possible."
