Senate Finance Committee Ranking Member Ron Wyden, D-Ore., today issued the following statement after the Supreme Court ruled to allow the Trump administration to implement its “public charge" policy:
“Donald Trump's right-wing Supreme Court just handed him a big win in his pursuit to deter legal immigration," Wyden said. “Immigrant families-who Donald Trump is so determined to vilify-contribute tremendously to our nation and deserve better. The American people deserve better. This cruel policy threatens our economy and will create a poorer, sicker and hungrier nation."
