Levin -- Statement on President Obama’s Corporate Tax Reform Framework

The following press release was published by the U.S. Congress Committee on Ways and Means on Feb. 22, 2012. It is reproduced in full below.

WASHINGTON - Ways and Means Committee Ranking Member Sander Levin (D-MI) today made the following statement after President Obama laid out his Framework for Business Tax Reform:

“I applaud the work of the President and the Secretary in making clear that reform must be driven by a clear set of goals, not only a number. The Administration has put the focus of corporate tax reform where it needs to be: on promoting investment, job creation and especially manufacturing in the United States, not overseas. Effectively reforming our corporate tax system will require constructive and open-minded dialogue on all sides regarding responsibility and equity in our tax code and the appropriate level of private-public roles in our economy."
