Levin -- Statement on Obama's Congressional "To-Do" List

The following press release was published by the U.S. Congress Committee on Ways and Means on May 8, 2012. It is reproduced in full below.

WASHINGTON - Ways and Means Committee Ranking Member Sander Levin (D-MI) issued the following statement today after President Obama urged Congress to act on several proposals to boost job growth in the United States:

“These are concrete proposals that would give businesses a direct incentive to invest and hire here in the United States. House Republicans should get busy supporting proactive initiatives to promote American jobs rather than focus solely on pursuing additional tax cuts for the highest earners at the expense of working families and protecting loopholes that encourage companies to ship jobs overseas. Our economic recovery should not fall victim to the obstructionist majority in the House."
