WASHINGTON - Ways and Means Committee Ranking Member Sander Levin (D-MI) today made the following statement regarding President Obama’s corporate tax reform proposal:
“President Obama today laid out a constructive proposal. It combines reform of our corporate tax system with specific provisions to increase investment in the American economy, incentivize domestic manufacturing, and create middle-class jobs. The President’s proposal demonstrates the importance of proceeding with tax reform on a bipartisan basis in both the House and the Senate. It highlights the urgent need to make critical investments in our infrastructure, American manufacturing, and job training resources. The President’s remarks stand in stark contrast to the actions of Republicans in Congress. While he is emphasizing the positive need for action on jobs and economic growth, congressional Republicans are obsessed with dismantling health reform for the 40th time."
