Levin Statement on Same-Sex Marriage Supreme Court Decision

WASHINGTON - Ways and Means Committee Ranking Member Sander Levin (D-MI) today issued the following statement following the Supreme Court ruling in Obergefell v. Hodges:

“This is a historic day, reflecting what each of us knows in our hearts and within our communities, we are all equal and should be able to marry who we love."

As a result of today’s ruling, same-sex spouses are now eligible for full Social Security and veterans benefits in every state in the country.
