HEARING: Brady Announces First Committee Hearing of 2016

The following press release was published by the U.S. Congress Committee on Ways and Means on Jan. 19, 2016. It is reproduced in full below.

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Today, Ways and Means Committee Chairman Kevin Brady (R-TX) announced that the Committee will hold its first hearing of the year on Tuesday, January 26th at 10:00 AM. The hearing will focus on reaching America’s potential through pro-growth policies that deliver opportunities for all Americans.

“Our economy still isn’t performing anywhere even close to its potential. Wages remain too low, poverty is stubbornly high, and too many Americans in the prime of their lives are sitting on the sidelines.

“Ways and Means Committee members refuse to settle for the slow growth status quo. Our first hearing of the year will focus on our pro-growth ideas and policies that will help create jobs, increase paychecks, and expand opportunities for all Americans."

The hearing will be held in the Ways and Means Committee room at 1100 Longworth.
