Chairman Neal Applauds Free File Alliance for Helping Non-Filers Access CARES Act Rebate

SPRINGFIELD, MA - Following Free File Alliance’s partnership with the IRS in developing a simplified tax form for non-filers to use to receive their economic impact payments, House Ways and Means Chairman Richard E. Neal (D-MA) applauded their rapid response to his request for their help last week:

“By creating a simplified tax form for those who need to file to receive their economic impact payment, the Free File Alliance is helping vulnerable populations weather these uncertain times. I am grateful that the Alliance heeded my call, and now those who must file a simple form will be able to access crucial filing assistance free of charge. Although I hope that some of these populations ultimately will automatically receive their rebates, I commend the Free File Alliance for stepping up in this challenging time."
