Neal Statement on Latest Filing in Tax Returns Lawsuit

SPRINGFIELD, MA - Tonight, Ways and Means Committee Chairman Richard E. Neal (D-MA) released the following statement after the filing of a new Joint Status Report in the Committee’s case to access former President Donald Trump’s tax information:

“With the Administration’s position that the Committee is lawfully entitled to receive the requested information, our claims against the Treasury Department are no longer necessary. The Committee seeks to expeditiously conclude this protracted case, obtain the records in question, and move forward with our oversight of the IRS’s mandatory presidential audit program."
