Washington, D.C. - Today, U.S. Rep. Ed Royce (R-CA), Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, issued this statement following House passage of H.R. 907, the United States-Jordan Defense Cooperation Act of 2015. Authored by Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (R-FL), the legislation, as amended, improves defense cooperation between the United States and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.

Chairman Royce said: “Jordan sits on the frontlines of the fight against ISIS and a refugee crisis in Syria where millions have been displaced. As a longtime key partner for peace and security in the region, it is important the U.S. support Jordan as it confronts these security challenges. By passing today’s legislation, Congress sends a strong message of support to our critical partner in the Middle East.".
