Washington, D.C. - House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Ed Royce (R-CA) issued the following statement on the passing of Elie Wiesel.

“The world has lost a relentless voice for human rights, dignity and justice. Elie Wiesel demanded that the world learn from the Holocaust, attacking indifference and complacency with his superb writing and teaching. This exceptional man’s wisdom is needed now more than ever, and fortunately, his legacy will endure as we confront the evil he so effectively decried.".
