The following press release was published by the House Committee on Foreign Affairs on Jan. 9, 2018. It is reproduced in full below.

Washington, D.C. - Today, the House Foreign Affairs Committee welcomed U.S. Ambassador to Russia Jon Huntsman for a bipartisan briefing. After the meeting, Chairman Ed Royce (R-CA) issued the following statement.

“It was good to welcome Ambassador Huntsman to Capitol Hill. Ambassador Huntsman has served in every administration since Reagan, and is clear-eyed about the challenges we face in U.S.-Russia relations. Congress has provided the administration with key tools to hold Vladimir Putin accountable, including the Countering America’s Adversaries Through Sanctions Act. We are ready to work with the administration on additional support in the months ahead, especially in countering Russian misinformation.".
