Meeks, McCaul, Bera, and Chabot Issue Statement Celebrating U.S.-Korea Alliance

Washington, DC-Today, House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Gregory W. Meeks (D-NY) and Ranking Member Michael McCaul (R-TX), along with Reps. Ami Bera, M.D. (D-CA) and Steve Chabot (R-OH), Chairman and Ranking Member of the Subcommittee on Asia, the Pacific, Central Asia, and Nonproliferation, released the following joint statement introducing a bipartisan resolution celebrating the United States’ alliance with the Republic of Korea.

“The U.S.-Republic of Korea alliance serves as the linchpin for ensuring peace, security, and stability in Northeast Asia and the wider Indo-Pacific region. Through our ironclad relationship rooted in our shared interests and values, we continue to closely coordinate on a broad range of regional and global issues. We introduce this resolution to welcome President Moon to the United States and underscore the importance of expanding cooperation between our two countries. This U.S.-Korea Summit is a clear signal that the U.S.-Korea alliance remains strong and effective."
