Washington, D.C. - On Sunday, House Foreign Affairs Committee Lead Republican Michael McCaul joined Rep. Nicole Malliotakis (R-NY), the ranking member of the International Development, International Organizations, and Global Corporate Social Impact Subcommittee, and members of the Cuban community in New York to show their support for the people of Cuba as they fight for their freedom against the oppressive Cuban regime.
“The people of Cuba were promised that communism would work and provide a Utopia..That did not work. And the people of Cuba have woken up to this. They were lied to by Fidel Castro and his regime, and that is why it is so significant to see the people of Cuba standing up in the streets for their rights and freedoms…for what Americans stand for, and what we will fight for with them."
