Thompson/Lieberman announce Governmental Affairs Legislative Mark-Up

(Washington, DC) ? Senate Governmental Affairs Committee Chairman Fred Thompson (R-TN) and Ranking Member Joseph Lieberman (D-CT) today announced the Committee will hold a business meeting on Thursday, March 23, 2000 at 10:30am in 342 Senate Dirksen Office Building to markup S. 1993, the Government Information Security Act.

On Nov. 19, 1999, Thompson and Lieberman introduced S. 1993 which would provide a framework for the government to make its systems more secure while simultaneously providing continuous, uninterrupted services to the public. The legislation is based on Governmental Affairs Committee hearings and many GAO reports and investigations.
