Lieberman Calls for Funding for First Responder Communications

Senator Joe Lieberman, (D-Conn.), Tuesday joined Senators Debbie Stabenow (D-Mich.), Carl Levin (D-Mich.), Mary Landrieu (D-La.), and Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.) in underscoring the importance of communication among first responders and calling for additional interoperability funding in the annual appropriations bill to fund the U.S. Departments of Commerce, Justice and State. Lieberman, who is the Ranking Member of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, has introduced legislation to promote interoperability and provide grants to first responders.
