WASHINGTON - Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee Chairman Joe Lieberman issued the following statement on the departure of Cass Sunstein as administrator of the Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs within the Office of Management and Budget:

"Cass Sunstein is one of America's leading scholars and teachers of government regulations law. For the last few years, he brought his extraordinary expertise to Washington to enable the Obama Adminstration to reduce excessive regulations without compromising their public interest purpose. Cass has really made a difference. I wish him and his family all the best in the next, great chapter of their lives. "
