Chairman Tom Cole announced on Apr. 20 that the Republican Steering Committee has recommended Congressman Jefferson Shreve for membership on the House Appropriations Committee, with official confirmation expected after a resolution is adopted on the House floor.
The addition of Shreve comes as the committee prepares for its fiscal year 2027 markup season, a key period when members review and draft spending bills. The appointment is significant because it marks the first time in thirty years that an Indiana Republican will serve on this influential committee.
