McCaskill Statement on the Deployment of Missouri Task Force 1 to Florida

The following press release was published by the U.S. Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs on Oct. 9, 2018. It is reproduced in full below.

WASHINGTON - U.S. Senator Claire McCaskill, the top Democrat on the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, issued the following statement after the deployment of Missouri Task Force 1 to Florida to assist with the response to Hurricane Michael:

“When Missouri’s first responders hear a call to action, they always answer it selflessly to keep their fellow Americans safe-and this time is no different, as Task Force 1 heads to Florida just 10 days after returning from North Carolina. I’ll be keeping those affected by Hurricane Michael and the brave Missourians of Task Force 1 in my thoughts in the days ahead."

Earlier this year, McCaskill commended Missouri Task Force 1 when the team was deployed to North Carolina to assist with Hurricane Florence response efforts.
