WASHINGTON - House Agriculture Committee Chairman David Scott of Georgia issued the following statement in response to the USDA’s announcement on updates to the Coronavirus Food Assistance Program (CFAP) 2:

“I applaud the USDA's announcement that they are leveraging the authority given to them by Congress to enhance CFAP 2 to better address the negative impacts that the COVID-19 pandemic has had on so many producers," said Chairman David Scott. “This additional support will strengthen our agriculture sector by ensuring that additional producers, including contract poultry growers, and commodities are covered."

“The House Agriculture Committee looks forward to continuing our work with the USDA including collaborating on solutions to provide relief for growers and other stakeholders in the wake of the pandemic." Chairman David Scott continued.
