Deputy Secretary Wendy Sherman met virtually today in Washington with outgoing Vietnamese Ambassador Ha Kim Ngoc. Deputy Secretary Sherman congratulated Ambassador Ngoc on the conclusion of his tenure as Ambassador and his work in advancing the U.S.-Vietnam comprehensive partnership. They discussed shared efforts to build back better from the COVID-19 pandemic, developments in the South China Sea and Mekong sub-region, and the importance of human rights.
