Readout of Secretary Mayorkas’s Meeting with Minister of Interior General Sheikh Rashed bin Abdulla Al-Khalifa of Bahrain

WASHINGTON – On June 29, 2022, Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro N. Mayorkas met with General Sheikh Rashed bin Abdulla Al-Khalifa, Minister of Interior of the Kingdom of Bahrain. Secretary Mayorkas and Minister Al-Khalifa signed three cooperative arrangements on countering unmanned aircraft systems, enhancing cooperation on cybersecurity, and combatting financial support for terrorism. They also discussed continued collaboration on addressing mutual security challenges and emerging threats through expanded information sharing and the exchange of best practices. Secretary Mayorkas also thanked Minister Al-Khalifa for his government’s critical support for the U.S. Coast Guard presence in Bahrain.
