The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency confirmed its 2022 President’s Student and Teacher Environmental Awards winners.
The EPA and White House Council on Environmental Quality announced the Presidential Innovation Award for Environmental Educators and the President’s Environmental Youth Award winners in a June 29 news release.
"The tradition of excellence in environmental education continues with this year’s winners, and I am so proud of their efforts to tackle the most pressing environmental challenges we face," EPA Administrator Michael Regan said in the release. “I’m happy to celebrate the climate action and environmental stewardship work of the dedicated youth and educators who are leaders in their classrooms and communities. Environmental education is one of the most important tools in our work to protect the environment and combat the climate crisis.”
"Congratulations to these outstanding students and educators for their ideas, creativity and leadership in finding equitable solutions to address the impacts of climate change in their communities," White House Council on Environmental Quality Chair Brenda Mallory added, according to the release.
