DOT-DOT X-50 offers new grant application process starting June 30

The Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Policy is offering a grant open from June 30 to Oct. 13.

The grant could provide up to $100,000,000.

The purpose of this notice is to solicit applications for Reconnecting Communities Pilot (RCP) Program grants. Funds for the Fiscal Year (FY) 2022 RCP Program are to be awarded on a competitive basis for projects that reconnect communities by removing, retrofitting, or mitigating highways or other transportation facilities that create barriers to community connectivity, including to mobility, access, or economic development.The variety of transformative solutions to knit communities back together can include: high-quality public transportation, infrastructure removal, pedestrian walkways and overpasses, capping over roadways, linear parks and trail connectors, roadway redesigns and complete streets conversions, and main street revitalization. The program will award two types of grants: Planning Grants and Capital Construction Grants.
