Media Advisory: Ambassador Christopher Lu and Special Envoy Jessica Stern to participate in the New York City Pride March
Ambassador Christopher Lu, U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations for Management and Reform, and Jessica Stern, U.S. Special Envoy to Advance the Human Rights of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, and Intersex (LGBTQI+) Persons, will participate in the New York City Pride March on June 26.
The U.S. officials will march with LGBTQI+ Special Envoys Alba Rueda of Argentina and Fabrizio Petri of Italy and will be joined by members of OutRight Action International and the UN LGBTI Core Group, which is a cross-regional group of UN Member States established in 2008 to raise awareness about LGBTQI+ issues, contribute to multilateral negotiations at the UN, and seek common ground and cooperation across the UN.
