Bureau of Land Management reopens Ft. Stanton-Snowy River Cave National Conservation Area and the Lincoln Tracts and rescinds fire restrictions

With increasing moisture and higher humidity, correlating to reduced fire danger, the Bureau of Land Management Roswell Field Office is terminating the closure and all fire restrictions at the Ft. Stanton-Snowy River Cave National Conservation Area and the Lincoln Tracts in Lincoln County, N.M. This action rescinds Fire Prevention Order #LLNMP02310-2022-004 and is effective June 24, 2022, at 8:00 a.m. At this time, restrictions will remain in place for the rest of the BLM Pecos District, per Fire Prevention Order #LLNMP02310-2022-003.

The BLM appreciates the public’s cooperation in helping to minimize the number of human-caused wildfires. For more information, please contact the BLM Roswell Field Office at 575-627-0272 or go to the BLM NM Fire Restrictions website.
