Lincoln Man Sentenced for Selling Firearm to a Prohibited Person

United States Attorney Deborah R. Gilg announced that Ashley F. Gerbig was sentenced on Monday, March 31, 2014, by U.S. District Judge Laurie Smith Camp to a term of forty-six month in prison. Mr. Gerbig pled guilty on Oct. 28, 2013, to selling a firearm and ammunition to a prohibited person. On March 7, 2013, Mr. Gerbig sold a firearm and ammunition to a law enforcement cooperating witness. The cooperating witness was a convicted felon who had previously informed Mr. Gerbig of his or her status as a convicted felon.

This case was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms.
