St. Croix, USVI - On Thursday, Oct. 2, 2014, Chief District Court Judge Wilma A. Lewis sentenced Scott Bass, 41, to 16 months imprisonment, one year of supervised release and a $100.00 special assessment.
On May 14, 2014, Bass pleaded guilty to Count One of an indictment charging him with manufacturing marijuana. Court records show that Bass was arrested on Aug. 16, 2013, after federal agents and task force officers searched the downstairs apartment of his residence and seized 102 marijuana plants, processed marijuana and marijuana cultivation equipment. The marijuana was intended for distribution.
The case was investigated by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA). The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Rhonda Williams-Henry.
