Buffalo Man Pleads Guilty To Drug Charges

BUFFALO, N.Y.-U.S. Attorney William J. Hochul Jr. announced today that Charles Humphrey, 46, of Buffalo, NY, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute over 500 grams of cocaine before U.S. District Judge Richard J. Arcara. The charge carries a mandatory minimum penalty of five years, a maximum of 40 years and a $5,000,000 fine.

Assistant U.S. Attorney George C. Burgasser, who is handling the case, stated that the defendant, along with co-defendants, distributed multiple quantities of cocaine between 2009 and January 2010. In addition, Humphrey sold a quantity of cocaine to a confidential source on Jan. 13, 2010.

The defendant was arrested along with four others. Humphrey is the fourth defendant to be convicted.

The plea is the culmination of any investigation by the Drug Enforcement Administration, under the direction of Special Agent in Charge James J. Hunt, New York Field Division.

Sentencing is scheduled for Aug. 17, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. before Judge Arcara.
