Tariq Haitham Alkhudayri, 28, of Glen Mills, Pennsylvania, was charged today by indictment with one count each of distribution of child pornography, receipt of child pornography, and possession of child pornography announced United States Attorney Zane David Memeger. The indictment alleges that on or about August and November 2014, Alkhudayri distributed, received, and possessed images of child pornography.
If convicted the defendant faces a maximum possible sentence of 50 years in prison and a mandatory minimum sentence of five years in prison.
This case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse launched in May 2006 by the Department of Justice. Led by United States Attorneys’ Offices and the Criminal Division’s Child Exploitation and Obscenity Section (CEOS), Project Safe Childhood marshals federal, state and local resources to better locate, apprehend and prosecute individuals who exploit children via the Internet, as well as to identify and rescue victims. The case was investigated by the Criminal Investigation Division of Delaware County and the Department of Homeland Security, Homeland Security Investigations (“HSI") and is being prosecuted by Special Assistant United States Attorney Josh A. Davison.
