Philadelphia Resident Charged With Illegal Reentry

Jose Alberto Rosario-Morales, a/k/a Miguel Hidalgo-Santos," a/k/a “Luis Santos," of Philadelphia, PA, was charged today by Indictment with illegal reentry after deportation, announced United States Attorney Zane David Memeger. The indictment alleges that on or about May 11, 2016, Rosario-Morales, an alien, and native and citizen of the Dominican Republic, was found in the United States after having been deported from the United States on or about Nov. 17, 2010.

If convicted the defendant faces a maximum possible sentence of 20 years in prison, a possible fine, a $100 special assessment, and a period of supervised release.

The case was investigated by Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Enforcement and Removal Operations (“ERO"), and is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Andrew J. Schell.

An Indictment, Information or Criminal Complaint is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
