BUFFALO, N.Y. - U.S. Attorney William J. Hochul, Jr. announced today that Ronald Anthony McCarter, Jr., 24, of Lackawanna, NY, pleaded guilty to bank robbery before U.S. District Judge Lawrence J. Vilardo. The charge carries a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison, a fine of $250,000, or both.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Brendan T. Cullinane, who is handling the case, stated on Oct. 29, 2015, the Key Bank on Broadway Avenue in Lancaster, NY was robbed. Subsequent investigation identified McCarter as the individual based on bank surveillance photos.

The plea is the culmination of an investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, under the direction on the part of Adam S. Cohen, and the Lancaster Police Department, under the direction of Chief Gerald Gill.

Sentencing is scheduled for Oct. 20, 2016 before Judge Vilardo.
