Davenport Man Sentenced to Prison for Felon in Possession of a Firearm Charge

DAVENPORT, IA- On Oct. 21, 2016, Lloyd Cortez Horne, age 28, of Davenport, Iowa, was sentenced by Chief United States District Court Judge John A. Jarvey to 60 months imprisonment after pleading guilty to felon in possession of a firearm, announced United States Attorney Kevin E. VanderSchel. Horne was ordered to serve three years of supervised release following his term of imprisonment and to pay $100 towards the Crime Victims Fund.

On March 15, 2016, Horne was stopped by the Davenport Police Department for an outstanding warrant. As a result of that stop, officers found and seized a loaded Ruger 9mm handgun. Horne had prior felony convictions in 2008 and 2009.

This matter was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives and the Davenport Police Department. The case was prosecuted by the United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Iowa.
