Philadelphia Man Charged With Illegal Re-entry After Deportation

Bertin Barcenas-Jaimes, of Philadelphia, PA, was charged today by Indictment with illegal reentry after deportation, announced Acting United States Attorney Louis D. Lappen. The indictment alleges that on or about Jan. 12, 2017, Barcenas-Jaimes, an alien, and native and citizen of Mexico, was found in the United States after having been deported from the United States on or about Sept. 28, 2007 and July 23, 2013.

If convicted the defendant faces a maximum possible sentence of twenty years.

The case was investigated by Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Enforcement and Removal Operations (“ERO"), and is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Denise S. Wolf.

An Indictment, Information or Criminal Complaint is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
