U.S. Attorney Duane A. Evans announced that CARLOS ARGUETA-MANCIA, age 24, a citizen of Honduras, was sentenced today after pleading guilty on Feb. 22, 2017 to a one-count Bill of Information charging him with illegal reentry of a removed alien, in violation of 8 U.S.C. § 1326(a). U.S. District Judge Mary Ann Vial Lemmon sentenced ARGUETA-MANCIA to four months in the custody of the Bureau of Prisons.
According to the court documents, ARGUETA-MANCIA was found in the United States on or about Dec. 30, 2017, after having been previously removed on Sept. 25, 2015.
U.S. Attorney Evans praised the work of the United States Department of Homeland Security in investigating this matter. Assistant U.S. Attorney Michael M. Simpson is in charge of the prosecution.
