ALBANY, NEW YORK - Christopher Kevin Solomon, also known as Kevin Murphy, age 41, and a citizen of Jamaica, pled guilty today to illegal re-entry into the United States.
The announcement was made by United States Attorney Grant C. Jaquith and Chief Patrol Agent John C. Pfeifer, United States Border Patrol, Swanton Sector.
Solomon was removed from the United States to Jamaica on April 26, 2003. In pleading guilty, he admitted that on Jan. 17, 2018, he was arrested by a Border Patrol Agent at a hotel in Hogansburg, New York. Solomon admitted that he returned to the United States without permission following the 2003 removal.
Solomon faces up to 2 years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000 when he is sentenced by Senior United States District Judge Lawrence E. Kahn on Aug. 29, 2018. A defendant’s sentence is imposed by a judge based on the particular statute the defendant is charged with violating, the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines, and other factors.
